So my friend Kimberly has taken me to task over my blog. I knew it had been a long time since I updated it but I had not realized how long. I'm so sorry to all my readers, not that there are very many of you! With the ending of football season i just NEEDED to sit on my butt and do nothing for awhile. Well, my awhile is officially up and here I am. I am also totally embarrassed that my best friend who just had child #7 has updated her blog like 6 times since my last post!
Can you believe it is almost Christmas!? What happened to November? Oh, I know. I was sitting on my butt!
I am not going to promise I will do a better job of updating the blog but I will sure try.
Keep warm my friends!

The highs and lows......
Oh the highs and lows of life.....The picture of the boys smiling is the divisional play-offs which as you can see they won. The other pic is after the North/South Championship game which they lost. It is all written on their faces. I tried to explain to Jeff that right now it hurts to lose but in the whole grand scheme of things this time will not really matter. Holy cow when he gets to my age he probably won't even remember his tenth year of life! Time is so warped when your young, you think you will never ever get over it or feel better. For me it was a bitter sweet ending. Yes, I wish they would have won and we could have gone to the Super Bowl yet at the same time I am ready to actually eat dinner at a reasonable hour and spend time with the rest of my family. In case you forgot I do have a husband and a daughter, although judging by this blog I only have Jeffrey! I will do a post about each of them this week, they deserve it.
Love to all!

The finished product.....
Alright, here is the finished mum. It took two hours, 6 glue sticks, $20, and my fingerprints! I have burned my fingerprints off making my son this ridiculous Texas tradition. And he loves it. He can't wait to wear it tonight to the Smithson Valley homecoming football game. Enjoy the pics and hopefully my fingerprints will be back in time to burn them off again next year!
Love to all!

It's a Texas thang.......
So I am getting ready to make a homecoming mum for my soon Jeff. For those of you not from the South a homecoming mum is a very elaborate pendant that girls wear the Friday of homecoming. The bigger, longer, and fluffier the better. Girls try to get as many as they can, given to them by either boyfriends, parents, friends, or whoever. Personally, I think it's just another way to promote popularity. You know, she with the most and biggest mums wins! All aside, here I am making my son the male version of the mum. It is made on a garter for the arm. I will post the finished product when and if I complete it!

4th photo in the 4th folder!
A friend of mine who also has a blog was challenged to do a very interesting post. You take the 4th picture in the 4th folder of your pics, post it and blog about it. So I have accepted the challenge. The picture I have posted are of my two dearest friends here in San Antonio, Tricia and Missy. We invited the families over for dinner and after a few bottles of red wine brought out the pics. Tricia's son Camron and Missy's son Alfonso are two of Jeff's best friends. I feel it necessary to post a picture of them too! I loved this challenge as it prompted me to look at a picture I had not seen in awhile and it brought back memories. Thank-you Kim!

SO SORRY.......
Oh my gosh, the last couple of weeks have been so busy. Between work, kids, school, sports, Jason, and his parents visit, it has been very hectic! I am finally here to update y'all on the latest Savard happenings.
First of all Jason's parents came for a visit and we had a wonderful time. We went to Austin, toured the capitol, and went to the Texas State Museum. Probably not too interesting for Hannah and Jeff but us adults had a great time. We took them to see Jeffrey play football and boy did they ever have a great time. I haven't heard Jason's mom, Joann, scream like that since Jason played 20 yrs ago. It was really cool! Not only did the Texans win but Jeff had one of the best games of his short little career. He ran for a 48 yard touchdown and had a few quarterback sacks at just the right time. Over all it was a great week. Enjoy the pics and check back for this weekends update soon!

Another weekend update.........
href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-cwc9qFhSRVWXFgs7FXHoYQWM_8AwbwWvNV5-fbjCUqk-TQI-9b_D_QFKOrxxHvstRwATgeCOWOiZ6b1jSkKBtMbRHhDiMrgZoiWcIk1iIXLAA2tpQZsSCtdmDDitgizYXhZRMSbDbps/s1600-h/IMG_1859.JPG">
Oh my goodness. We had a great weekend. The Texans won the game on Saturday 19-0. The boys did such a great job and played with their heads and their hearts. WARNING< SHAMELESS BRAGGING ABOUT TO HAPPEN! Jeff had 2, count'em 2, touchdowns. I posted a pic of him running toward the end zone but I was so excited jumping and screaming I totally missed the shot of him actually making the touchdown. Oh well there is always next weekend. I also posted a pic of our team bus. I thought my California peoples would get a kick out of it. We take our football serious here....we want our boys traveling in style to the games!
I wanted to let everyone know Hannah made it home safely from her retreat. She had a great time canoeing, hiking, and making friends. We are truly blessed that she was able to attend Bracken for high school. I do not want to even imagine what it would have been like at the public school for her. I along with my husband came up through public school and exited fairly unscathed but I am so thankful Hannah has a choice.
Until next time, have a great week.

Very cool!
Hannah left for a mandatory freshman retreat yesterday morning for 2 nights and 3 days. It is at a christian camp about an hour or so outside of San Antonio. It is through her new school and I think it is such a cool thing. Her freshman class is about 50 and they go on this retreat at the beginning of the year to get to know each other. They swim, hike, canoe, have bible studies and fellowship with one another. The school understands that not all will be fast, close friends but they want to foster a sense of belonging and compassion within the freshman class. Hannah is loving her new school and was very excited to go on this retreat. If you know Hannah she doesn't get excited about much! :) I just thought this retreat was a very cool thing and you would never get this in a public school.

Weekend Update
Well, we survived Ike. Not only did we not get any rain but we had a record breaking hot day! 101 degrees! I went to home depot on Friday to get paint and I had to dodge the people who were stocking up on flashlights and tarps for the rain that never came! I found out Thursday night that school was letting out 1/2 day on Friday due to the possibility inclement weather......this is Texas fools......we always have the possibility of inclement weather. Okay, I am done on that subject.
On to the football game......WE WON!!! WOOHOO!!! It was a great game. We won 7-0 in overtime. Very exciting stuff. Our boys played hard and smart. Last week the boys had over 100 yards in penalties but this week only about 15 and 10 of those were coach caused!! Enjoy the pics and stayed tuned for more.

Yes, he does exist!
First of all I need to start this blog off apologizing to my very dear friend Lori. I have given her a hard time about not commenting on my blog and she has now done so. Not only that but actuallt sent me a real email! You know I love you Lori!
Okay, so now to the meat of my blog. Several people have commented to me that they do not believe I am actually married as they have never actually seen my husband. Jason works very long hours to keep his family in their accustomed lifestyles, yes we are spoiled. He may not be at practices or lessons but he attends every game and show that his kids are in and he is there whenever I need him to be. I posted a picture if y'all still don't believe me!!
Now for a football update. We lost our 1st game this past Saturday. The score was 12-7 and it was a heartbreaker as we should have had them. It was 97 degrees in the stands and 105 on the astro turf field, perfect South Texas football weather. Jeff had some good tackles and some great blocks and as always we are very proud of him. The one thing about Jeff is he plays every down with heart and fire. Better luck next Saturday Texans.

It's the most wonderful time of the year!
Aaahhh....back to school. It truly is the most wonderful time of the year. Mom gets to go to work and not worry about the carnage she may find when she gets home. Kitchen carnage, living room carnage, gameroom carnage, or bodily carnage. If you know my kids you know all of that is very possible. Not only is there less bickering between Hannah and Jeffrey but there is less between them and me. The house stays much cleaner when they are gone for 8 hours a day! Jeffrey is at Specht for his last year there. He started the 5th grade! Holy Cow! As the upper classman he is king of the school and loving it. Amazingly he likes his teacher and is excited to do good this year. He is quite busy with the homework and hours of football practice each week. Hannah has started private school this year. She is in 9th grade....a high schooler....I have a high schooler! WHEN DID THAT HAPPEN!! She loves her new school and has made some friends but does not like the uniforms. She'll get used to it soon enough I'm sure. I love them. No more arguing over what she is going to wear.
Enjoy the pic of them from the first day of school.
P.S. Lori-I'm still waiting for a comment! :)

Are you ready for some football?
WOOHOO!! It's football season. The Savard household is ecited and ready for the first official game next Saturday. In the meantime we have had "hell" week. It is a week full of sweat, tears, throw-up, and yes injury. Both Jeff and his best friend Alfonso hurt there foot/ankles. After visits to the emergency room we were happily told it was only a bad sprain as opposed to the torn ligament we thought it was. They told us 4-6 weeks but die-hard Mom iced that sucker down all day and night for week and on day 7 he was out on the field! Give it up for Mom!! Jeff is back to the beast he normally is and it's good to have him back. I will update you weekly on how the games go as the season progresses.
HAPPY FOOTBALL SEASON Y'ALL!

Way Cool!!
Jeffrey had the priviledge to attend Michael Jordan's Flight School in Santa Barbara this Summer. It was five days filled with playing basketball, all-you-can-eat eating, and meeting kids from all over the country. The other blonde kid is someone he met from Michigan. They are already planning a next summer visit! He had a great time. What made it even more special was his best friend from Texas was able to go also. What a cool memories to have when they get older. Enjoy the pictures!

I'm Back........
Okay, my best friend Suz left me a comment saying she reads my blog so that means I will continue to update it. Thank-you Suz. Every once in a while we all need a little encouragment. I have been super busy as of late with work and family commitments so I have been lagging on the blog. For those of you who read it, Suz, I apologize. If you, with 6 almost 7, kids can manage to update yours regularly I am ashamed! So without further ado here we go.....
Since I seem to have Suz on the mind let us go back to our summer vacation. We were so lucky to be able to see the DiSilvestri clan and we all had a great time. Joey, Jeff, and various other kids splashed in the pool, rode the famous wiggle cars, and palyed ping-pong. Hannah was able to go horseback riding with Lyndsey and decided she likes bare-back much better! She couldn't walk for a couple of days! When Suzanne and I were younger we always thought we would live next door to each other w/ the matching picket fences.....well we don't. We live quite far away from each other and don't see each other often but when we do it's like no time has passed. We instantly revert back to 12 yrs old, much to Jay's chagrin. Our kids all get along and even our husbands. If you know my husband you know this is an amazing feat unto itself! Thank-you DiSilvestri Family for opening your home and your hearts to us. We can't wait to have you back to Texas y'all!

Part 3 Cali vacation.............
After Grandma Debbie and Grandpa Dave's we were off to Carpinteria to visit Grandpa Tom and Sylvie. Of course we went to the beach and had fun surfing but we also too a wonderful trip out to Anacapa Island on Grandpa's ocean boat. It wasn't the best weather but Jeff and I had a great time. Hannah spent the whole time sea sick :( As the pics show Jeff fished while Hannah slept. Once again Jeff could not catch anything to save his life. He has fished in stocked lakes, rivers, and now the ocean only to have caught nada! Let's see where do we go next.....tune in to see where our next adventure is.
P.S. If you read my blog leave a post every once in awhile. No one ever leaves me posts so I don't know if anybody actually reads this! Thanxs.

Part 2 Cali vacation.......
After we returned from the wine country the kids and I headed on over to Grandma Debbie and Grandpa Dave's. We spent a couple of great days on the lake with the kids wakeboarding and skiing their hearts out. We can always count on a great time at the lake with Grandpa and Grandma. Enjoy the great pics of the kids!

The start of our Cali vacation
Hello and sorry I have not been updating my blog. Life in CA has been crazy. The kids and I have been practically living out of the trunk of our rental car. Thank goodness it is what we call an "Italian" trunk. Room enough for a few dead bodies!
We started our vacation with Jason and I taking a little trip up north to the wine country all by ourselves! What a treat. We went to Healdsburg and stayed with his Aunt and Uncle at their home in the vineyards. It was an incredible place to stay, we were exceptionally spoiled. Fine wine, fine food, and even finer company made for a 5 star stay. It was a little hazy due to all ther fires but not too bad.
A big thank-you to Uncle Gary and Aunt Dianne for their wonderful hospitality!

My Apologies.......
I am offering my apologies to all who read my blog and have been waiting patiently for updates on Hannah and Jeff. We have been in California for a couple of weeks now and I have not had time nor internet access at some places. I will be posting some great pics in the near future but until then know we are fine and having a great time visiting family and friends.

The name of my blog is........
The name of my blog is "This moment is where we belong". Well, several times this weekend I questioned that sentiment. Friday was a day of delays and missed flights trying to get to Kirksville to see Hannah graduate from JBA. I needed to be there by 5 and did not arrive until 6:30. I had just sat down when her class was called up to receive her certificate. WHEW!! I looked up to heaven and just said thank-you Lord. I belonged in that moment. Not the 90 minutes before but right then. On Saturday we drove the 3 hours to the airport and patiently waited for our flight. We got on the plane and sat there for 2 1/2 hours. After having not seen my daughter for almost a month we used that time to catch up (she slept in the car). That moment was right where I belonged, reconnecting with my daughter. Then it was announced our flight would be going nowhere and was cancelled with no more planes leaving that night. Hannah and I scrambled for a hotel and then went to a very late dinner, once again talking and sharing stories about her time away. That moment was right where I belonged. We finally arrived home this evening over 24 hours late. Could I be angry and frustrated about all that has happened? Yes. But I am slowly realizing that every moment good or bad is right where we belong.
P.S. I will post pics of Hannah at Truman State and Jeff from his big Houston tournament later in the week.

Reaching for the dream.......
Jeff's baseball team is off to what is the "Big Dance" of a tournament. They are going to the Field of Dreams in Houston for the State tournament. The boys are all very excited and of course want to win it all. The fields are replicas of some of the more famous field in the U.S. Imagine being ten and playing in Wrigley Field or Fenway Park. Too cool! All the boys are bleaching their hair blonde and carving the teams initials into the backs of their heads to show unity, I guess. I think it's just an excuse to do something we would never approve at any other time. Although, those of you that have known me for awhile know I have no room to talk when it comes to hair color or style! On another note, I will not be going to Houston because I get to go get Hannah!!!! I miss her a lot and can't wait to have my baby girl back. She told me the other night she missed us but wasn't ready to come home. Even though it burst my bubble a little when she said that I am very proud of the independent person she has become. I will let you all know next week how the games went.

They say everything in Texas is BIGGER!
When we moved here 7 yrs ago everyone said everything in Texas is bigger. Come to find out they were right about that statement. The houses are bigger, the cars are bigger, the malls are bigger :), the cinnamon rolls are bigger which causes our butts to be bigger too! Trust me on this one my butt is a whole lot bigger since moving here! I will show you a picture of the cinnamon roll but not my butt!

Always a bridesmaid,never a bride......
We had another tournament this weekend.....what's new! And yet again our boys made it to the championship game and came in second place. Don't get me wrong, I am extremely proud of the boys for doing as well as they have but they want first place. They want it, need it, and can taste it. Coming in second is not acceptable to them anymore. It also didn't help that we lost to a team that is very unsportsmanlike and down right rude. They act and talk nasty to the other teams they play and the parents aren't much better. As they say, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. On another note. Roger Clemens, yes the rocket, was out at the games this weekend and also was down right rude. We all understand he was there to watch his kids play baseball but when you are a famous baseball player out at a kids baseball tournament you have to expect to be mobbed by the kids that look up to you (even if us parents hate that). He chose this life and in that choice came certain responsibilities, like it or not. Their opinion of the rocket has not been tainted yet by the accusations of steroid abuse and unfaithfulness ect.... In light of everything he has been through as of late he should be ecstatic people still want his autograph. But no, he wanted nothing to do with it. After telling a group of our boys that he would sign some autograph's after his childs game he ditched them and told them to not follow him. Actually told them to turn around and walk the other way in a very not nice tone. Their opinion of him has now been tainted by his actions toward them not the media. Shame on Roger Clemens for bursting the bubbles of a lot of kids but at the same time this parent also thanks you because there are certainly better athletes for my child to look up to than you!

Is this how it will be?
So Hannah has been gone since Saturday (officially without me) and I have talked to her twice. Two times in almost a week. NOT ACCEPTABLE! I was expecting a nightly check-in call telling me how class was, that her homework was done, that she is taking a shower and brushing her teeth nightly. Not only am I not getting that but she was in a terrible hurry to get off the phone! SHE told ME she had things to do! What things? More to the point, what things that are more important than talking to her mother? Is this the beginning of the end? Is this how it's going to be when she leaves for real college?

It turns out.....
So I thought that with Hannah gone Jeffrey would be quieter having no one to argue with. Well as it turns out Jeff is more than happy to talk, sing, and argue with himself. No older sister required. So much for a peaceful 3 weeks!

Unexpected moments.......
As I write this blog I am sitting in my hotel bed in Kirksville Missouri. My daughter Hannah is still asleep (what's new!) and I am looking out the window and some surprisingly beautiful countryside. In a couple hours I will drop Hannah off at Truman State University where she will spend the next 3 weeks............without me, her Dad, her brother, or any family for that matter. Am I nervous? Definitley. Am I going to miss her? Without a doubt. Is Hannah nervous? Definitley. Is she going to miss me? Without a doubt. Will she miss her brother? Absolutley not!! How do I know this? Because she told me. I am so glad I decided to bring her instead of putting her on a plane in San Antonio. She is old enough (14 if you read the last post) to fly unaccompanied but the time we had together without the distractions of home allowed for some wonderful conversation. My daughter is growing into a sweet, wonderful, exceptionally brilliant dare I say woman. Sitting in an airport for hours waiting for lost luggage gaves us ample time to catch up. Hannah actually put the IPOD away several times to talk with me. My heart has been warmed! In a few hours I will be driving back to Kansas City sad and already missing my baby girl but also proud of her and looking forward to picking her up and talking about her experience.
Wish her luck my friends.
Wish her luck my friends.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HANNAH!
Today is our daughter Hannah's 14th birthday. We are so proud of the beautiful young lady you are becoming. When you entered this world 14 years ago we knew you would be something very special and have a great impact on our lives. Little did we know what a brilliant person you would become and how many other lives you would have a positive impact on. We love you more than we could ever tell you!!

Horsing Around............
Hannah had her last riding lesson last night. She is only taking a break for the Summer as she is going to be everywhere but here all Summer long. For someone who is not the most graceful on her own two feet Hannah is amazingly so with the help of the horses other four! After taking her every week for 2 1/2 hrs. I now know things about horses I never thought I would. Did you know when a horse licks its lips that means they are thinking? I didn't. Did you know it takes a horse 3 times doing something for it to understand? If only that worked for Jeffrey life would be so much easier! Enjoy the pics of Hannah, as you can see from the look on her face she loves riding.

Winners even in defeat
This past weekend we had (oh surprise) another baseball tournament. The boys did a great job on Saturday and entered Sunday as the #1 seed. WARNING....I am about to shamelessy brag about my child......Jeff had 2 triples, a walk, and then took one for the team on the lower leg. Hey whatever it takes!! On Sunday they played a TRIPLE header in 100 degree weather with very high humidity. It was murder on us parents who had to sit there in that heat! :) They ended up losing in the championship game and they were heart broken. As you can see in the pic some of the faces tell it all. I believe this is the third time in the big show and they have come in 2nd place each time. They are hungry for the BIG win. Yet to all of us parents they are winners because of the effort and heart they put into each game. It's not always about the end result but how you get there.
